Stanowice, Silesian Voivodeship

Stanowice ( German Stanowitz ) is a town in Poland and part of the city and rural community Czerwionka - Leszczyny, in the Silesian Voivodeship. The village of around 2,000 inhabitants situated 10 km north-east of Rybnik and north of Zory.

History

The first mention of the locally owned and Tithe Directory of the Diocese of Breslau ( Liber fundationis Episcopatus Vratislaviensis ) around the year 1305. Idem The passage in Stanowitz decima episcopalis also provides information on that Stanowitz was the diocese tenth of charge. In the following years, the village changed hands several times, shared the history of Upper Silesia and was eventually adopted as a manor by the Prussian state. Since 1885 Stanowitz was school location and counted in 1900 431 inhabitants ( Gutsbezirk Stanowitz: 193 inhabitants). 1949, the construction of the Catholic St. Hyacinth Church was ( kościół Sw. Jacka ) consecrated.
