STAR detector

STAR ( solenoidal tracker at RHIC ) is one of the four experiments, the plasma research at Brookhaven National Laboratory for the quark gluon. STAR focuses on the measurement of hadronic observables (as opposed to PHENIX, which searches for leptonic signals). The experimental setup of STAR surrounds the collision zone of the gold nuclei almost hermetically, so that an almost complete reconstruction of the particles produced is possible.
