The Star Princess is a cruise ship of U.S. shipping company Princess Cruises, part of the British- American and the world's largest cruise company Carnival Corporation & plc. She is a sister ship of Grand Princess and the Golden Princess.

From 9 April to 13 May 2006, the Star Princess for repair in the Lloyd Werft Bremerhaven, which was necessary after a fire had broken out on board during a cruise, the damaged on the port side about 100 cabins. An elderly passenger died of a heart attack while eleven others suffered some severe smoke inhalation. Thanks to the timely evacuation and the successful erasure measures, no further passengers were harmed.

According to press reports, discovered on 10 March 2012, two passengers aboard the Star Princess a small fishing boat with three people in several kilometers away in distress. The crew of the Star Princess but has the cries of shipwrecked allegedly ignored and continued the ride. One of the fishermen was rescued after 28 days, the other two were killed.

Currently, the ship is traveling in the summer of Alaska, whereas it is predominantly used in winter for cruises to Hawaii.
