Stara DÄ…browa, Pomeranian Voivodeship

Stara Dąbrowa ( German Alt Damerow, Kreis Stolp / Pomerania, Kashubian: Staro DĄBROWA ) is a village in the Polish Pomeranian Voivodeship and is part of the gmina Damnica ( Hebrondamnitz ) in the district of Slupsk ( Stolp ).

Geographical Location and Transport

Stara Dąbrowa in powiat Słupski - in contrast to Stara Dąbrowa in powiat Stargardzki ( Stargard in Pomerania ), the place name Stara Dąbrowa there are still several times in Poland - is located in Eastern Pomerania, in the plain east of Slupsk ( Stolp ) between Słupia ( Stolpe ) and Łupawa ( Lupow ), surrounded on three sides by forest. The southern boundary of the municipality is the Polish national road 6 ( former German Reich Straße 2, now also European Route 28), which runs from Szczecin to Gdansk and on to Pruszcz Gdański ( Praust ). Up to the city of Slupsk ( Stolp ) is 20 kilometers away. The church headquarters Damnica ( Hebrondamnitz ) is seven kilometers away. Here is also the nearest railway station on the national railway line 202 of Stargard ( Stargard in Pomerania ) to Gdansk.

Neighboring towns of Stara Dąbrowa are: to the north Damnica ( Hebrondamnitz ), to the east LeBien ( Labehn ) and Rębowo ( Rambow ), in the south Nowa Dąbrowa ( Neu Damerow ) and to the west Zagórzyca ( Sageritz ).

History

The settlement form after Alt Damerow is a small village streets. In the Prussian era, it was one of 18 royal villages, the Office Stolp (now Polish: Slupsk ) were under. In 1732 listed for Alt Damerow: 1 Schulze, 6 farmers and 2 Kossäten. 1784 are already 10 farmers ( including the mayor, who was also a royal forester ) and four new scheduled on the degraded Vorwerk farmers and two Büdner - for a total of 13 fireplaces.

By 1945 Alt Damerow was a place in the official and the civil registry district Ramnitz ( until 1937 Wendish Karstnitz, Polish today: Karznica ), Gendarmerie area Velsow ( Wieliszewo ) and in the District Court District Stolp. It belonged to the district of Stolp in Pomerania Region of the Prussian province of Pomerania.

On March 8, 1945 Russian troops arrived in Alt Damerow and occupied the place. By tank fire several farms went up in flames. The Russians remained until the end of 1945 in place then invaded Poland and expelled its inhabitants.

126 expelled from Alt Damerow villagers were later identified in the Federal Republic of Germany and 157 in East Germany.

Alt Damerow was renamed in Stara Dąbrowa. The place is now a part of Gmina Damnica in powiat Słupski the Pomeranian Voivodeship ( to 1998 Voivodeship Stolp ).

Church

Prior to 1945, all inhabitants were Old Damerows Protestant denomination. The village belonged to the locations German Karstnitz ( 1938-45 Karstnitz, Polish today: Karżniczka ), Ludwig Lust ( Sąborze ) Mahnwitz ( Mianowice ), Neu Damerow ( Nowa Dąbrowa ) Sageritz ( Zagórzyca ) and Papritzfelde ( Paprzyce ) Parish Sageritz ( Zagórzyca ) in the church Stolp -Altstadt ( Slupsk - Stare Miasto) of the ecclesiastical province of the Church of the Old Prussian Pomerania Union.

Because of the great distance to the village church services were often held Damerower school in the old. Lay behind the cemetery - on the way to Sageritz - the notable Forest Church. Last German minister was Pastor Walter Borchardt.

Since 1945, the residents of Stara Dąbrowa almost exclusively Catholic Christian. Furthermore Zagórzyca ( Sageritz ) parish seat of now Sw Parafia. Józefa (St. Joseph) parish mentioned in the deanery in the diocese Główczyce Pelplin of the Catholic Church in Poland.

Here surviving Protestant church members are now the parish in Slupsk ( Stolp ) in the Diocese of Pomerania - Greater Poland the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland assigned.

School

In the two-stage pre-1945 elementary school in Alt Damerow two teachers taught two classes in about 70 school children. The names of the last German teachers are Strelow and Vangerow.
