Starr Struck: Best of Ringo Starr, Vol 2 is the eleventh album and the second compilation album by Ringo Starr after the breakup of the Beatles. It was released on 28 February 1989 in USA, UK and Germany, the album was not. In the U.S., it could not place in the charts themselves.

Genesis

After Ringo Starr's last studio album Old Wave was released only in a few countries, he curtailed his musical activities.

In May 1985, he took over a small television role in the musical Alice in Wonderland and sang nonsense.

On October 21, 1985 Ringo Starr was a guest at Carl Perkins, the TV special Blue Suede Shoes in the " Limehouse Television Studios " in London - A Rockabilly Session with Carl Perkins and Friends recorded, additional guest musicians and among other George Harrison, Eric Clapton Dave Edmunds. Ringo Starr played drums on several songs and sang the title Honey Do not. The song was sung by Matchbox Ringo Starr and Carl Perkins. The television broadcasting in January 1986. Publication on CD only took place in June 2006.

In November 1986, the double album It's A Live In World was published for the Ringo Starr entitled You Know It Makes Sense contributed.

Between February and May 1987, Ringo Starr ( alarm Studios and Sun Studios Three) went in Memphis (USA) in two recording studios. Producer of the album was Chip Moman, who recorded with Ringo Starr sixteen songs, one of which then five songs ( I Changed My Mind, I Can Help, You Better Move On, Hard Times and What I Knew Then) were released on bootlegs. In July 1988, the new album should be released, Ringo Starr prevented the publication by a court process, which was completed in January 1990.

On 5 and 6 June 1987 Ringo Starr appeared at Wembley Arena as part of the Prince's Trust Concert in London and sang the song With a Little Help from My Friends, which in August 1987 on the album Recorded Highlights of the Prince's Trust Concert was published.
