Stary Gielad ( German: Alt Gehland ) is a community for Sorkwity ( German: Sorquitten ) scoring village in the Polish Warmian -Masurian, powiat Mrągowski.

Geography

The village is located one kilometer north of the village on the western shore of the Sorkwity Jeziorio Gielądzkie ( German: Gehlandsee ). The county town of Mrągowo ( German: Sensburg) is located ten kilometers north-east.

History

The foundation of Old Gehland dating from the 17th century.

April 8, 1874 District Sorquitten in Sensburg was in the course of a Prussian government reform newly formed, the rural communities Old Gehland, Charlotte, United trunk, Janowen, Lasken, Neeberg and New Gehland and the agricultural estates United Joachim Owen, United Kosarken Dönhoff cities to have Great Kosarken - Wehlack, Heinrich courtyards, small Gehland, Joachim Klein Owen and Sorquitten included.

1884 founded by the Countess of Mirbachstrasse ( Sorquitten ) in Old Gehland a Korbflechterschule.

On December 1, 1910 lived in Old Gehland officially 171 inhabitants.

1933 were recorded in Old Gehland 168 inhabitants. In 1939 there were only 155 inhabitants.

After the end of World War II in 1945 to the German Empire ( East Prussia ) Alt fell Gehland belonging to Poland. The resident population was German, if they had not fled, largely expelled after 1945 and replaced in addition to the traditional Masurian minority by new residents from other parts of Poland. The town was renamed Old Gehland Stary Gielad according to the Polish transmission of the name.
