The Stavanger City Bridge (Norwegian Stavanger bybru ) is a road bridge in the Norwegian city of Stavanger in Rogaland county.

The bridge was completed in 1978 was the first cable-stayed bridge in Norway.

Description

The Stavanger city bridge leads the provincial road 435 from the city center in a clear height of 26 m above the Strømsteinsund and the island of Holmen grass to the island Sølyst. She has one each lane in each direction and also a reserved lane for buses and taxis into town and on both sides of a wide pedestrian and bike path.

The bridge is 1067 meters long in total. The entrance to the bridge begins near the city center first with a tunnel rises from the end of a long ramp bridge in a slight curve on different streets and homes to high-altitude einhüftigen cable-stayed bridge.

The A-shaped pylon stands on the other side, spanning from there the Strømsteinsund with a span of 185 m. On the other side of the pylon, a slightly sloping elevated flyover connects, which crosses the island of Holmen grass and ends on a hill on the island Sølyst. The bridge has a total of 24 fields.

The pylon and the bridge piers consist of reinforced concrete. The ramp Bridge and the high street are prestressed concrete box girder bridges, where the first two fields of the high street are supported both by the stay cables guyed and pillars.

Only the bridge deck of the main span consists of an orthotropic plate with a steel box girder and truss.

The bridge was designed by the engineering firm Johs. Holt planned in collaboration with Arne Selberg.
