Steblów, Kędzierzyn-Koźle County

Stöblau, Polish Steblów, is a town in Upper Silesia in the community ( Krapkowice ) in Krapkowicki in the Opole Voivodeship.

Stöblau located 5 km southwest of the municipal center Cisek, 12 km south of the county town Kędzierzyn -Koźle ( Kędzierzyn - Cosel ) and 50 km south of the voivodship Opole.

History

The place that was founded as Vorwerk was first mentioned in 1532 as Steblowitz.

In the referendum on March 20, 1921 166 voters voted to remain in Germany and 66 for Poland. Stöblau remained with the German Reich. By 1945, the place was in the district of Cosel.

In 1945 the previously German place under Polish administration and the Silesian Voivodeship was connected and renamed June 28, 1948 in Steblów. In 1950, the town was part of the Opole Voivodeship and 1999 of the re-established powiat Kędzierzyńsko - Kozielski. On 11 October 2007, the City also received the official place names Stöblau, in September 2008 bilingual town signs were erected.
