Stefan Höhener

Stefan Höhener ( born June 13, 1980 in Gais AR) is a former Swiss luger.

Stefan Höhener from Obfelden belongs since 1996 to the Swiss national team in the sport of luge. The mason starts since the 2000 /01 season in the Luge World Cup. The following season, he came in Winterberg for the first time in tenth place among the top 10. At the Olympic Games in 2002 in Salt Lake City was Höhener 13, 2003 /04 he was able to improve his best World Cup result in Calgary sixth. He repeated this result in the following season.

A leap in performance managed Höhener in the season 2004/05. In addition to further improve the result in a single World Cup in Koenigssee, where he finished fourth, he was second in the Challenge Cup in Winterberg third parties in Igls. At the World Championships in Park City, he finished sixth. Despite a fifth rank in the World Cup race in Igls, the following season was rather unsatisfactory. His final international breakthrough came Höhener in the season 2006/07. With the World Cup races in Park City and Calgary, he was third in Koenigssee and Altenberg fourth. At the World Championships in Igls he finished fifth.

After the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver ended Höhener his active career. At the Olympic race he finished in 32nd place after he missed the second race by a fall all prospects for better placement.
