Stefan Legein
Stefan Legein (* November 24, 1988 in Oakville, Ontario ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who plays for the Manchester Monarchs in the American Hockey League on the position of the right winger since October 2011.
Career
Legein began his career in 2004 at the age of 15 years at the Milton Icehawks in the Ontario Provincial Junior Hockey League, a Canadian junior league division club. Even as the season progresses it brought the Mississauga IceDogs of the Ontario Hockey League in their squad after the right winger for the Icehawks had scored in 26 games 19 points scorer. Even with the IceDogs was Legein immediately to the permanent staff and completed in the first two years of his involvement in Mississauga 108 encounters in which he, however, reach only 24 points. Only in the 2006/07 season succeeded the Canadian breakthrough in the OHL when he scored 75 points in 64 games. With alone 43 goals he was the eleventh best scorer of the season and has won both the invitation to the Top Prospects Game of the Canadian Hockey League also nominated in the OHL Eastern Conference All-Star team. Through its various services teams from the National Hockey League became aware of the diminutive striker. After him, the Columbus Blue Jackets selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2007 in the second round to 37th place out.
In the summer of 2007 Legein represented his native country in the Super Series, a comprehensive eight games country comparison between the Canadian and Russian U20 junior national team, for the first time internationally. He came in all games used and contributed three goals at. At the start of the new season, he ran again for the IceDogs, who were resettled in the summer of Mississauga to St. Catharines and Niagara IceDogs as henceforth played. There he was linked to the performance of the preseason and was appointed in December in calling forth the Canadian junior national team for the World Youth Championship. At the World Championships in the Czech Republic Legein also served as an assistant captain of the team and has been involved with two scorer points from seven games on the fourth tournament title of Canada in a row in this age group. Following the tournament Legein returned to the IceDogs. With continued good performance, he received an invitation to the OHL All-Star Game, and the nomination to the OHL Second All-Star Team. Meanwhile he had been in the course of the playoffs by the Columbus Blue Jackets to the Syracuse Crunch, their farm team in the American Hockey League ordered, in which he played two games and thus, nearly a year after he was drafted, made his professional debut.
On 20 August 2008 Legein was at the age of 19 years, surprisingly his retirement from active sports known. This decision, however, he revised after a good three months in retirement, when he declared on December 3, wanting to return to the beginning of the new year in the organization of the Columbus Blue Jackets. After he had brought with the St. Catharines Falcons in the Canadian Golden Horseshoe Junior League and the Brampton Battalion of the Ontario Hockey League in the form he hope to see again a place in the squad of the Syracuse Crunch, Columbus' farm team to get. This step was taken on January 6, 2009, when it transferred the Blue Jackets in the cadre of crunch. In the remainder of the season over the Canadians ran in 26 games for the Crunch, scoring one goal. After he started the season 2009/ 10 in Syracuse and had recorded three points in the first six games, he was transferred to the franchise of the Philadelphia Flyers, where he played for the farm team Adirondack Phantoms. In return, defender Michael Ratchuck moved to the Syracuse Crunch.
