Stefan Mazrocis

Stefan Mazrocis ( born April 18, 1967 in Kerkdriel Maasdriel ) is a Dutch- British snooker player.

Career

Born in the Netherlands Stefan Mazrocis comes from an English -Latvian family. Earlier in his career he lived in Leicester and started for England. In 1988 he won the first EBSA Amateur Championship by a final victory over Paul Mifsud from Malta.

1991 Mazrocis was professional and was in the 1990s in the area to accommodate 60 to 80 of the snooker world rankings. In the Strachan Challenge # 1 1993 - a minor ranking tournament - he made it in the absence of most of the top players to the finals. He succeeded in qualifying for the finals of the World Snooker Championship 1995, where he lost his opening match but against Stephen Hendry with 3:10.

When Asian Classic 1996 managed Mazrocis the quarter-finals - his greatest success in a ranking tournament of Snooker Main Tour.

In the 1997 World Cup Mazrocis again managed to qualify for the finals; where he won his first round game against surprising Peter Ebdon and moved into the second round. There he was defeated Alain Robidoux 9:13.

After the end of the 2000/01 season Mazrocis missed the qualifier for the main tour. 2002 and 2004, he managed to return to the professional tour, but only for a season. After 2008, the EBSA International Play -Off won - now starting for the Netherlands - he qualified for the last time to date for the main tour, but had to return again after a year of leave.
