Stefano Gross

Stefano Gross ( born September 4, 1986 in Bolzano ) is an Italian alpine skier from South Tyrol. His specialist discipline is the slalom.

Biography

His first FIS race went big in January 2002. Between 2003 and 2004 he reached in each case at the Italian Junior Championships in second place in the slalom. In 2005, he first participated in a Junior World Championship and was named best Italian eighth in the slalom. His first start in the European Cup had large in December 2005, but reached for the time being no significant results. At the Junior World Championship 2006, he finished fourth in the slalom, a little later he was Italian Junior Champion in slalom.

His debut in the World Cup had Gross on 22 December 2008 at the slalom in Alta Badia. On 1 February 2009 he reached rank 25 in the slalom in Garmisch -Partenkirchen the first time the points. In the European Cup he succeeded at the end of the 2008/09 season with eighth place in the slalom at Crans- Montana his first top- 10 ranking, and on 22 January 2010, he took second place in the slalom in Bansko for the first time on the podium. With a further two podiums he came fourth in the slalom rating in the European Cup 2009/10 season. His only World Cup result in the 2009/10 season was a 21 place in the slalom in Kranjska Gora on January 31, 2010.

In the season 2010/11 Gross was able to score in three World Cup slalom races. He reached 13th place in Zagreb on January 6th and 12th place in Bansko on February 27 for the first time placements among the fastest 15 at the World Championships 2011 in Garmisch -Partenkirchen, he drove in the slalom at No. 22 in the 2011/12 season shows large been his best performances. The first top- 10 finish in the World Cup succeeded him on 19 December 2011, rank 8 in the slalom in Alta Badia, on January 8, 2012, he drove in the slalom in Adelboden on rank 3 and realized this his first World Cup podium. With a total of three podiums he binned in the slalom discipline rating in fifth. This level he could not keep you in the 2012/13 Season: Four times he drove into the top ten, a fourth place was his best result.
