Steffen Hamann

Steffen Hamann ( born June 14, 1981 in Rattelsdorf; Complete name Steffen Hamann Ewald ) is a German professional basketball player. He plays the position of point guard. The information on Hamann body size vary from 1.86 to 1.95 meters. For the season 2010/2011 he moved to FC Bayern Munich. In June 2013 Hamann announced end of his career with the German national basketball team.

Career

At age nine, Steffen Hamann basketball began to play. In Rattelsdorf, Kemmern, Bamberg and Breitengüßbach he played in youth teams. In 1998 he played at TSV Breitengüßbach in the 2nd league and from 1999 at the TTL uniVersa Bamberg (now Brose Baskets ) in the National Basketball League. Until 2003, he played with a double license in both teams, below only in Bamberg.

At the beginning of the season 2006/ 07 Hamann moved to Climamio Bologna in Italy, but returned in early January 2007 back to Bamberg back because he got after a coaching change in Bologna too little playing time. Hamann was in 2005 and 2007 with German Bamberg basketball champion. In June 2008, Hamann signed a three -year contract with ALBA Berlin. The move to Alba Berlin was a small sensation, because previously was Hamann at the Alba fans as a kind of bogeyman. After the season 2009/2010 Hamann's contract was dissolved at Alba and he signed a three-year contract with the ProA -division club FC Bayern Munich, where he will be working again with his former coach Dirk Bauer man. At the end of his first season with the team on Hamann rose in the Bundesliga.

His debut in the national team was Hamann on 22 January 2003 in Koblenz against Macedonia. His greatest success at the international level was the 5th place at the European Championship 2007. Between 2003 and 2011, Hamann played a total of 131 matches, of which 75 were won. He scored an average of 5.03 points per game. In June 2013 Hamann announced his retirement from international football.
