Game mechanics

It follows a linear plot with predetermined events and ways of interacting. The player is busy, the dialogues between the characters and the inner monologues of the protagonist to pursue most of the time. As in many other Japanese adventures there at irregular intervals decision points at which it can direct the action in a certain direction with his actions. Here, the game branches into various routes that lead to different events and endings.

The decisions the player falls in Steins; gate by means of a phone trigger (フォーン トリガー). Thus, the decisions of the protagonist provide answers to incoming calls and text messages dar. In the case of a call, he may choose or refuse the acceptance of the call for a response. In text messages individual terms, meanwhile, are highlighted in color, which then constitute the appropriate reply to the topic. This type of control is that of the predecessor chaos; comparable Head, where the player does not have to respond to any call or any message. In some places, however, this is necessary to direct the action in a certain direction.
