Steklov Institute of Mathematics

The Steklov Institute of Mathematics (Russian Математический институт им. В. А. Стеклова ) is a company specializing in Mathematics Research Institute in Moscow and St. Petersburg.

It was founded on April 28, 1934 in Leningrad, and named after the Russian mathematician Vladimir Steklov. 1940, the institution moved mainly for reasons of space to Moscow.

In January 2009, the Institute has 13 departments in different areas ( algebra, number theory, theoretical physics ).

The Steklov Institute is one of the world's leading mathematical research institutes.
