Stéphan Buckland

Stéphan Buckland (also written Stéphane Buckland; born January 12, 1977 in Curepipe Floreal in ) is a retired Mauritian athlete who went especially about 200 meters to the start.

The first major international appearance had Buckland at the 2001 World Championships in Edmonton. With a time of 20.24 seconds, he finished in the final run over 200 meters sixth. Two years later at the World Championships in Paris, he rose to fifth place. He ran a time of 20.41 s This placement and also good performance in a number of international sports events entitled him to participate in the IAAF World Athletics Final. He took third place in Monte Carlo.

2004 saw its Olympic debut at the Games in Athens. In 20.24 s he scored sixth. This year, he was back at the IAAF World Athletics Final here, and again he finished third.

A medal was the man from Mauritius win at the 2006 Commonwealth Games. With 20.47 s he came in the final run in the same time as the winner Omar Brown ( Jamaica), but had to concede defeat just - he won silver. Also at the African Championships in 2006 and 2008, he landed on the silver medal.
