Stephan Winkelmann

Stephan Winkelmann ( born October 18, 1964 in Berlin ) is a German manager and since January 1, 2005, President and CEO of the Italian sports car manufacturer Automobili Lamborghini Holding SpA

Life and career

At the age of one year moved Winkelmann, whose father was a diplomat, with his parents from Berlin to Rome. There he lay on the local German school from his high school and began studying political science, which he later graduated in Munich. In between Winkelmann spent two years as a paratrooper in the German Army and earned the rank of lieutenant of the reserve.

His professional career began in 1991 when the German financial service provider MLP. Soon Winkelmann went into the automotive industry, where he first lived in Munich until 2004 worked as a sales representative for Mercedes -Benz and finally in 1994 for Fiat and Alfa Romeo. There Winkelmann held in the marketing and sales management, including as CEO of Fiat Auto Austria, Switzerland and Germany.

Since 1 January 2005, Winkelmann President and CEO of the Volkswagen Group associated Italian sports car manufacturer Lamborghini.

Awards

In December 2009, Winkelmann was awarded the Order of Merit Grand Officer of Merit of the Italian Republic ( Grande Ufficiale al Merito della Repubblica Italiana dell'Ordine ).
