Stephen Morris (musician)

Stephen Paul David Morris ( born October 28, 1957 in Macclesfield, Cheshire, England ) is a British drummer and member of the band New Order.

Morris was already in the predecessor band New Order, Joy Division, worked as a drummer and was a candidate for the succession of the singer of the band after the lead singer of Joy Division, Ian Curtis hanged himself in 1980. On some early pieces by New Order (especially live versions ) is to hear his voice.

He lives with his wife Gillian Gilbert ( keyboard player for New Order ) in Macclesfield in Manchester.
