Stephen O. Murray

Stephen O. Murray ( born 1950 ) is an American sociologist, anthropologist and author.

Life

After leaving school, Murray studied at James Madison collage, Michigan State University. In 1975, he was the master's degree in sociology at the University of Arizona and a doctorate degree, also in sociology at the University of Toronto. He studied anthropology at the University of California, Berkeley based on 1980 until 1982.

His work will include studies in sociolinguistics, in the history of the social sciences as well as detailed reports on topics in the intersection of sociology and homosexuality. He worked here in particular with the regions of the United States, Mexico, Canada and Taiwan. Together with Will Roscoe, he wrote studies on homosexuality in Black Africa and Islamic areas. Together with Regna Darnell, he wrote a monograph series Critical Studies in the History of Anthropology of the University of Nebraska Press.

Furthermore, Murray published in particular in the Journal of Homosexuality and Histories of Anthropology Annual, he also writes articles for the websites of GLBTQ, epinions.com and associatedcontent.com.
