Stern-Combo Meißen

The Stern- Combo Meissen, 1980-1989 Stern Meissen, is a music group founded in 1964 by Martin Schreier, Norbert Jäger and Bernd Fiedler in Meissen in the GDR. She is one of the oldest existing rock bands.

Band History

Cooperation with Ralf Schmidt and three other musicians (Michael Behm, Alexander Procop and Frank Nicolovius ) was terminated due to internal and musical differences in July 2008. In September 2008, band leader Martin Schreier before the new cast of the star - Combo Meissen keyboardist Thomas Kurzhals returned to the band, the rhythm section was added in addition to founding member Norbert hunter with Axel Schäfer on bass and Frank Schirmer on drums. As a singer, was added Michael Larry B. Brödel. In February 2009 Eghard Schumann left the band; he was until June 2010 replaced by Sebastian Düwelt.

A highlight was the anniversary concert for the 45th birthday on June 20, 2009 in Meissen, in which Dirk Zöllner & André Gensicke, muSix and the monks were on stage. Reinhard Fissler was present as a guest. Following this prelude concert the band toured until the end of 2009 under the motto 45 years Stern Combo Meissen and worked in parallel to the songs for a new studio album. Since July 2010, played the Star - Combo Meissen with Robert Brenner (bass) and Marek Arnold (keyboards, saxophone).

Thomas Kurzhals died after a short illness in early January 2014.
