Sternhagel

Frank Marth is a German guitarist, singer and songwriter.

Life

In the 1970s, Marth was employed as a stage musician at the Düsseldorf Schauspielhaus. During this time he also played in local bands such as P. flash or Curth Comet, the Lilac Angels, founded by Jürgen Graf and Bernd racing the short-lived band from Hamburg Heavy Jelly to set up. He was then a member of the equally short-lived City Rock'n'Roll Allstars that grossed 1980, the first Sternhagel single for the Düsseldorf Rondo label. Between 1979-1981, a collaboration with Xao Sefffcheque ( Family Five), in which the Fakesampler Very good is very good and several singles were produced developed.

On the occasion of the International Short Film Festival Oberhausen / Dusseldorf is founded 1980, the Da Capo Movie band that was made up of jazz and rock musicians, actors and mimes. The band had indeed until 1987 appearances in Germany and elsewhere in Europe, but has not posted any plates.

Sternhagel

Marth then produced with Herwig Mitteregger, with CBS, the factory missile and the Spliff Studio LP Sternhagel comes, released in 1982 on CBS. Belonged to Studio Cast Bernd Renn ( bass ), Jürgen Dahmen ( keyboards and percussion ), Mitteregger on drums as well as guests from the Berlin scene.

Music and lyrics by Sternhagel are ambiguously playing with expectations and clichés of pop and rock music, which he used to, ironically and clownish to announce its special way of seeing things. Familiar, popular music styles are broken with lyrics that sometimes naive as children's songs ( Eskimo, Fahrradfahr'n ) therefore come hinterfotzig, grotesque, melancholic ( heave-ho, King Kong, free beer ), war. The first single was Fahrradfahr'n, but it sold miserably, just like the other productions of Sternhagel. The project was abandoned then.

He then continued to participate as a guitarist, singer, composer and musical Zuarbeiter active and among others in the productions of the Düsseldorf band Reflexx. Today Marth works as a musician and guitar teacher.
