Steve Epting

Stephen "Steve" Epting is an American comic book artist.

Life and work

Epting studied graphic design at the University of South Carolina before he began his career as a professional cartoonist as a contract artist for the independent publisher First Comics in 1989.

For First Comics designed Epting backup stories for the Nexus series and worked as a guest artist for the Dreadstar and Whisper series as well as a regular illustrator for the Nexus spin-off series of Judah Macabee: Hammer of God and Hammer and Hammer of God: Sword of Justice.

After the bankruptcy of First Comics In 1991, Epting, whose smooth and bemühter to clean lines drawing style is influenced among other things by Joe Kubert, Alex Raymond and José Luis García- López, to Marvel Comics. There he was first a guest, for the Avengers series (# 335-339 ) before he began to care for these series as a regular artist ( # 343-375 ). His partners in this project were writer Bob Harras and Tuscher Tom Palmer.

2004 Epting was given the job of master cartoonist for Marvel's traditional series Captain America, which was restarted at this time with a new # 1. Eptings partner in this project was the author Ed Brubaker, together he looked with the series until now.
