Steve Jackson ( born 1953 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, United States) is an American game designer.

Jackson developed since 1976 games, especially role-playing games. He founded in 1980 the company Steve Jackson Games, on which most of his plays were published. From his trading-card -game INWO ( Illuminati. New World Order ) on the basis of the also he invented the game Illuminati 1982-1994 over 63 million tickets were sold. Jackson, making it one of the most successful game inventor of all time.

Jackson developed the GURPS role-playing game system and the card game Munchkin.
