Steven Gilborn

Steven Neil Gilborn ( born July 15, 1936 in New Rochelle, New York, † January 2, 2009 in Chatham, New York ) was an American actor.

Life

Steven Gilborn first attended Swarthmore College and graduated with a BA in English Literature from. 1969 followed by a Ph.D. in English Literature from Stanford University. He then taught at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stanford University, Columbia University and the University of California.

From the mid- 1980s was a much Gilborn booked a guest star on the U.S. television series. 1990 and 1991, he starred in four episodes of the crime series Columbo a coroner. Other recurring roles he had in The Wonder Years, LA Law, Practice - The lawyers and six under one roof. From 1994 to 1998 he starred in the ABC sitcom Ellen the father of actress Ellen DeGeneres. He had movie roles in the comedies The Brady Bunch and The Brady Bunch 2, and Private Parts.

Gilborn was married to the landscape photographer Karen Halverson. He died of the cancer.
