Stewart Grand Prix

Stewart Grand Prix was a British motor racing team, who took part of the 1997 season until the 1999 season of the Formula 1 World Championship.

History

The team was founded in 1996 by former Formula 1 World Champion Jackie Stewart and his son Paul, and emerged from the Paul Stewart Racing team, which had previously competed in the British Formula 3 Championship. In 1997, the team participated in the World Cup with the Stewart SF01. In the course of 1999, Stewart Grand Prix was completely taken by the U.S. automobile company Ford, who had previously supported as an engine supplier. As of the 2000 season the team went under the name of Jaguar Racing.

Stewart Grand Prix scored 49 Grand Prix starts a victory (Johnny Herbert at the European Grand Prix at the Nürburgring, 1999), one pole position (Rubens Barrichello at the French Grand Prix at Magny -Cours 1999) and a total of 47 World Cup points.
