Stewart Imlach

James John Stewart Imlach ( born January 6, 1932 in Lossiemouth; † 7 October 2001) was a Scottish football player and coach. His greatest success as a club player was winning the FA Cup in 1959 with Nottingham Forest, as a Scottish national team was his biggest success to participate in the Football World Cup 1958 in Sweden, in which he played two of his four matches. The official recognition of Imlachs four internationals, by the posthumous award of the caps, took place only in 2006 by the Scottish Football Association, as previously for national team until 1975 only inserts the British Home Championship were hereby awarded. Imlachs greatest strength was his speed. After his active career as a football player Imlach worked on the coaching staff of the clubs Nottingham Forest, Everton, FC Blackpool FC and Bury. When he was working as First Team coach at Everton this was in season 1969/70 champions of the English Premier League.

In 2009, in Lossiemouth the Imlach Way, a road in a development area of the city, named after him. Special recognition was Stewart Imlach posthumously attain when one of his sons, Gary Imlach, the book My Father and Other Working Class Football Heroes published, which was awarded in 2005 as the William Hill Sports Book of the Year.
