Stheneboea

Anteia ( in Euripides it is called Stheneboea ) is the wife of Proitos of Tiryns. She is the daughter of Iobates of Lycia. You fell in love with the young Bellerophon when he was a guest at her and her husband, but was rejected by the latter. Her love turned to hatred and she accused Bellerophon recreate it. The was then expelled from the court and sent with a letter in which his murder was required to Iobates. Anteia had with her husband, three daughters, namely Iphinoe, Lysippe and Iphianassa, who succumbed to madness and were cured by Melampus.
