Stjørdalselva

The Stjørdalselva is a river in Nord-Trøndelag in Norway.

The 50 km long river arises in Meråker by the confluence of its headwaters Dalåa and Torsbjørka. It flows through the Stjørdal in a westerly direction and takes the tributaries Sona, Funna and Forra on. In Stjørdal the flow in the Trondheim fjord opens. The estuary of the Stjørdalselva was moved so that the runway of the airport of Trondheim could be extended. The European Route 14 follows the course of the river. The catchment area covers 2111 km ².

The river Stjørdalselva one of the best salmon rivers in Central Norway.
