Stoney LaRue

Stoney LaRue Phillips ( b. 1977 in Taft, Texas ) is an American country singer of the Red Dirt scene.

Biography

Stoney LaRue was born in Taft, Texas in 1977, but he spent most of his youth in Oklahoma. His first photograph was the son of a bassist at the age of twelve years. As a musician, he made ​​it to Stillwater, Oklahoma to his breakthrough. There he made ​​the acquaintance with other musicians such as Cody Canada and Mike McClure. First, he was active in his group The Organic Boogie Band, before he released his debut album Downtown brought to market in 2002. LaRue then moved to New Braunfels, Texas and in 2005 released his second album, The Red Dirt Album, which contains the name of his musical style adopted in Stillwater Red Dirt. With his new album LaRue also reached the U.S. country album charts, giving him also with his three successors - two live albums and a 2011 published third studio album - succeeded. With the latter, he also made ​​it for the first time in the Billboard 200 and was able to record number 53 as highest position. It has also brought to the top positions in the indie charts LaRue.
