History

In the area of Straufhain there were 1614-1679 in the districts Linden, Seidingstadt, Steinfeld Stressenhausen and Streufdorf 45 witch trials.
The voluntary association of municipalities unit community Straufhain took place in 1993. Linden The congregation joined the unit municipality on 1 January 1996. The municipal administration has its headquarters in Streufdorf. Since December 31, 2013 it belongs to the administrative community to Heldburger lowlands.

The Lutheran parish Streufdorf - Stressenhausen the Evangelical Church in Central Germany in charge of the churches in Adelhausen, Eishausen, Seidingstadt, Stressenhausen and Streufdorf. The Church in Linden also part of the Lutheran parish Gleichamberg.
