Street & Racing Technology

Street and Racing Technology (SRT ) is the in-house tuning operation for vehicles of Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep.

SRT began as "Team Viper" to develop the Dodge Viper. With the "Team Prowler ", which was the Plymouth Prowler developed, one fused to the Specialty Vehicle Engineering ( SVE). This was later renamed Performance Vehicle Operations ( PVO ). Since all PVO vehicles used the abbreviation SRT, it was decided in 2004 to give even the development team name.

Developed by SRT models are all in addition to the model name of the normal production models the abbreviation SRT, followed by the number of engine cylinders. For example, Chrysler 300C SRT8. The only exception was the Dodge SRT-4, which was based on the Dodge Neon and where the name of neon was omitted. The hyphen is still used now been dropped.
