String Driven Thing

String Driven Thing is a Scottish folk rock band that existed from 1969 to 1975 and again since 1991 occurs.

History

String Driven Thing was founded in 1969 by husband and wife Pauline and Chris Adams as a trio with John Mannion. In 1970 they released their debut album String Driven Thing.

In 1972, she got a contract with Charisma Records. Meanwhile, a quartet with Graham Smith and Colin Wilson - Mannion resigned in 1972 - they were at the Reading Festival, and played their first album for a charisma that is also simple String Driven Thing said. The album received good reviews. The band played the end of 1972 as the opening act of Genesis in New York.

The next album, The Machine That Cried they took in 1973 with a fifth band member, drummer Billy " The Kid" Fairley. Despite good reviews, the album sold sluggishly. There were some line-up changes, and in 1974 left the couple Adams the band. With replacement musicians two albums were recorded, then the group disbanded in 1975.

String Driven Thing Since 1991 occurs with Chris and Pauline Adams and various accompanying musicians on again. Appeared in 2007 with Moments of Truth their first studio album in more than 30 years.
