Strip-till

Under minimum tillage is defined as a plow -less seed process in which the plant remains a catch crop or the straw of the previous crop cover before and after the Neuaussaat the soil surface and this thereby protecting against soil erosion and siltation. If the mulch without tillage, this method is associated with the direct seeding ( no-till farming ). Otherwise, a conservation tillage takes place that creates a simple seedbed and only under the seeding depth or limited tillage to a narrow strip around the cutter coulters.

Although mulch without tillage offers the highest contribution to erosion control and stable soil structure, however, is limited to certain crop species because of the unfavorable baking properties of the young plants.

With mulch tillage is very common in spring crops. For tillage or seedbed preparation while power harrows and seedbed be used only edit the top layer of soil (minimum tillage / minimum tillage ).

If only a narrow strip of soil processed by the coulter is called Streifensaat, Streifenfrässaat or Strip - Till.

A flat pass is usually sufficient to produce a suitable seedbed. In cold soils, such a seedbed promote the warming of the soil and hence the emergence and early development of, for example, maize and sugar beet sustainable and allow for precision drilling.
