Stuart Franklin
Stuart Franklin ( * July 16, 1956 in London ) is a British photojournalist.
Biography
Stuart Franklin studied photography at the West Surrey College of Art and Design and a PhD in Geography at the University of Oxford. From 1980 to 1985 he worked as a correspondent for the Sygma agency in Paris. Since 1990 he is a member of Magnum Photos, which he chaired from 2006 to 2009. Since 1990, he has photographed more than twenty reports for National Geographic.
Stuart Franklin created a photographic icon, as he the 1989 massacre at Tiananmen Square, the world -famous recording made in which one protester stops the series of tanks. With this photo Franklin won the third prize in the category Current coverage from the Press Photo of the Year.
