Stubben is a place in the unit Beverstedt municipality in the southern district of Cuxhaven, in Lower Saxony ( Germany ).

History

Name and Coat of Arms

The name means Stubben in Low German stump. The former forest area has been called Rehloge after deer and Loge, an old word for forest. For the colonization of the trees were cleared and after the tree stump the place got its name. In his name, the coat of arms, showing a buck jumping over a stump relates.

History

Archaeological finds that even 10,000 years have lived BC reindeer hunters in the area. Megalithic tombs and finds from the Neolithic period indicate a continuous settlement.

When the railway Bremen- Bremerhaven built and there is a railway station was built, settled near the train station, commuters, which had their work in the cities. The place Stubben grew and merged with the then individual communities Adelstedt, Brunshausen and Elfershude as well as the family farm Square, which previously belonged to the neighboring Bokel to one place. Through the station itself Stubben developed into a major transshipment for livestock, timber, fertilizer and agricultural products. Close to the station in 1904 moved to a dairy.

At the site of the former dairy Mäder at the station is a concrete block factory today.

Since 1st November 2011 Stubben is a district of the municipality Beverstedt unit.

School

The school children of the first four years of school to go to 2 km from the primary school to Bokel. In Beverstedt spots, 4 km away, there are the secondary schools ( junior high school and the private school " Forest School "). Currently a full-time school is achieved incrementally.
