To the north lies the St. Wilhelmer Valley, south of the meadow valley with Todtnau and Todtnauberg.

Botany, use

The Stübenwasen summit is forested. The sharp transitions to the forest, however, show that it is not a natural forest border. However due to the amount of Stübenwasen would not be free of forest, a tree line here would be expected to be about 100 km north of the nearest northern Alpine peaks approximately at an altitude of 1650-1700 m. The plateaus are used in summer as pasture in winter as a ski resort.

Tourism

The Stübenwasen is accordingly more touristy developed, although, such as the Feldberg, or candelabra, is not accessible by car. To the west of the summit is since 1935 the mountain inn Stübenwasen (1270 m). It is accessible in summer via the hiking trail between Feldberg and cry and in the winter on the Stübenwasen track. Moreover lifts of Todtnauberg of lead on the Stübenwasen, the Stübenwasen lift (1000 m, 1100 m to 1350 m) and the Stübenwasen summit lift (400 m long, 1330 m to 1370 m).

The Stübenwasen is the destination of many hiking trips, many visitors exceed the summit but only on the way to or from Feldberg. Behind the cross on the summit begins the Alpine path, one of the highest walking trails in the Black Forest, through the alpine terrain of the north faces of Feldberg and Stübenwasen showing through its exposed position and its alpine character of a feature in the Black Forest. Also, the western route ( 10th stage of the Western variant) via the Stübenwasen.
