The Study Foundation of the German people eV ( SddV ) is an organization supporting gifted in Germany, which awards to gifted students, and doctoral fellowships. The Academic Foundation, Germany's largest gifted conveyor is, politically, religiously and ideologically independent. Their office is located in Bonn. Financially, the Academic Foundation by the federal government, the states and municipalities, a variety of foundations and corporations and more than 6,000 private donors supported. The budget of the National Academic Foundation amounted to a good 78 million euros in 2013. Since its inception, it has supported more than 55,000 gifted students, and doctoral students.

History of Academic Foundation

Initially founded in Dresden in 1925 as a department within the economic aid of the German Student Body Association, the Study Foundation of the German people was dissolved in the time of National Socialism in 1934 and replaced by the Reich promoting the kingdom of Student Services ( RSW). In 1948 it came to starting up as Academic Foundation of the German people in the legal form of a registered association (eV ) in Cologne. After the turn followed in 1990 the extension of the activities in the new federal states.

Financial Aid

Moral support

For ideological support program of study foundation include summer schools, Scientific College, language courses, short meetings and for the support provided by local tutors who take this volunteer for the Academic Foundation. Special Programs

In addition to the regular promotion of the Academic Foundation offers special scholarship programs that are designed mostly for international graduate programs and are often organized together with other foundations and organizations.
