Studio Job

Studio Job is a Dutch- Belgian design studio led by Job Smeets and Nynke Tynagel.

Job Smeets (born 1970 in Belgium ) studied 1990 to 1995 at the Design Academy Eindhoven in three-dimensional design. In 1998 he founded the Studio Job in Antwerp, the 2000 (once their graphic design studies in Eindhoven ) is a Dutch Nynke Tynagel ( b. 1977 ) joined. They knew each other since 1996 from Eindhoven. Smeets and Tynagel also live together.

They were known by some monumental designs of furniture and interior furnishings singly or in very limited quantities. They use a wide variety of models of cartoons to historical and heraldic motifs, country furniture ( as in her series Bavaria ) and simply everyday objects such as kitchen utensils and farm cast in bronze ( as in her series farm). Her work has been frequently than Neo - Baroque and Mannerist circumscribed and uses partly ironic distancing. Studio Job has received numerous awards.

The work of Studio Job is represented as prominently in the Groninger Museum, and was, for example, presented at the Museum of Modern Art and the Victoria and Albert Museum. They also worked with companies such as D. Swarovski in Austria and Moooi in the Netherlands.
