Suben

Suben is a municipality in Upper Austria in Schärding district in Innviertel with 1470 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013). The municipality is located in the judicial district Schärding.

Geography

Suben is located on 329 m altitude in Innviertel. The expansion is 3.4 kilometers from north to south, from west to east 3.3 km away. The total area is 6.4 km ². 12.5% ​​of the area is forested, 57.8 % of the area is used for agriculture.

History

Since the establishment of the Duchy of Bavaria, the place was Bavarian until 1779. In 1050, the existing castle of the Counts of Formbach of Tuta, daughter of Henry of Formbach and wife of the Hungarian king Béla I, converted to a collegiate church. The abbey itself was founded Suben 1126/1142 by Bishop Altmann of Trent, son of Count Udalschalks Lurn and great-grandchildren Tutas. Location and pen came after the Peace of Teschen with the " Innviertel " which until then had been " Innbaiern " told and for centuries an integral part of the Duchy and Electorate of Bavaria, to Austria.
