Subway Series

The Subway Series (Eng.: Underground series) is a series of baseball games between two teams from New York City in Major League Baseball.

Historically, the term Subway Series has been used for duels in the World Series, and is also used in so-called Inter League games between the New York Yankees of the American League and the New York Mets of the National League since 1997. The meeting of the two former New York Teams New York Giants and Brooklyn Dodgers, both of which played from 1880 to 1957 in the National League, are not referred to as Subway Series, as long as they were played during the regular season.
