Sucha, Opole Voivodeship

Sucha ( German: Suchau ) is a town in Poland in Upper Silesia in the community Strzelce ( United Strehlitz ) in the powiat Strzelecki in the Opole Voivodeship.

Sucha located eight kilometers north- west of the seat of the municipality and the county seat Strzelce and 24 kilometers southeast of the Opole voivodship.

History

In the plebiscite in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921 voted 43 voters to remain in Germany and 251 for Poland. On Good Suchau 22 people voted for Germany and 52 for Poland. Suchau remained with the German Reich. 1933 lived 730 inhabitants in the village. On November 12, 1936, the town was renamed in Strelau. 1939, the place had 815 inhabitants. By 1945, the place was in the district of Great Strehlitz.

In 1945 the previously German place under Polish administration and renamed Sucha and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950, the city came to Opole Voivodeship. In 1999 the place to re-founded powiat Strzelecki.
