Suchovršice

Suchovršice ( German Saugwitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located two kilometers northwest of Úpice and belongs to Okres Trutnov.

Geography

Suchovršice extends south of the hawk mountains in the valley of the Upa, open out the streams Karbanka and Zbylovka in the village in the. To the north rises the Klůček (495 m ). At the northern end of the village the railway line Jaroměř - Lubawka runs.

Neighboring towns are Sedmidomí and Končiny in the north, Velké Svatoňovice in the northeast, Kvíčala in the east, in the southeast Úpice, Podrač and Radeč in the south, Studenec the southwest, Rubínovice and Stary Rokytník in the west and Luční Domky, Adamov and Bohuslavice in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the village Suchowrssicze took place in 1545 in the official books of Náchod. In 1585 the city was designated as Sauchowitz and 1595 as Sauchwitz. In 1834 Saugwitz / Suchowrssic consisted of 91 houses with 544 inhabitants. In the village there was a three-course mill sawmill. Catholic vicarage was Úpice. Until the mid- 19th century, the village remained to rule Náchod submissive.

From 1850 formed Saugwitz / Suchovršice a municipality in the district Neustadt team. 1874, the community was released from the judicial district Náchod and the new judicial district Úpice associated .. Since 1877, the village belonged to the district Trautenau. After the Munich Agreement Suchovršice remained in Czechoslovakia in 1938 and was until 1945 the district assigned Nachod. After the end of the Second World War, the village came back to Okres Trutnov. With the beginning of 1981 Suchovršice was incorporated into Úpice. Since 1 September 1990 Suchovršice again forms a separate municipality.
