Sue Hendrickson

Susan " Sue " Hendrickson ( born December 2, 1949 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American paleontologist.

Life and work

She is known for her discovery of the remains of bears her name Tyrannosaurus rex " Sue " in South Dakota on August 12, 1990. It is the largest, most complete and best preserved skeleton of its kind ever discovered. It discovers other important fossils and artifacts around the world. Sue Hendrickson is also a professional diver since 1971.

In 2001 she published an autobiography entitled Hunt for the Past: My Life as to Explorer.

Sue Hendrickson is now living on the island of Guanaja, off the coast of Honduras.

She is a member of the Paleontological Society, the Explorers Club and the Society for Historical Archaeology.

Awards

In 2000, was honored with the "Glamour Woman of the Year Awards" Sue Hendrickson from Glamour magazine.
