Suffrage Hikes

The Suffrage Hikes ( German: suffrage marches ) 1912-1914 the American public should draw attention to the need for the full women's suffrage in all states of the USA. Rosalie Gardiner Jones organized the first march from Manhattan to Albany. Participants and organizers were, among others, Emma Bugbee, Ida Craft (nicknamed Colonel or Colonel ) and Elizabeth Freeman and Rosalie Gardiner Jones (nicknamed Mrs. General ).

March to Albany 1912

The march began on 16 December 1912, resulted from a subway station in Manhattan northward. Of the 500 women who participated in the launch event, came with 200 for the march. After just 14 days, the first four pilgrims arrived in Albany on December 28.

The March on Washington in 1913

The march began in the Hudson Terminal in New York City on February 12, 1913 and resulted in over Newark, Metuchen to Philadelphia and Baltimore, and eventually ended up in Washington, DC
