Sujit Kumar

Sujit Kumar (* February 7, 1934; † February 5, 2010 in Mumbai) was an Indian film actor and director. From the 1960s to 1990s, he was a busy supporting actor of Hindi film, besides, he was one of the stars of Bhojpuri cinema.

Biography

Sujit Kumar comes from a village near Varanasi. He began his career in 1960 and worked in the 60s in low-budget thrillers like Ek Saal Pahele (1965) and Lal Bangla (1966 ) with. In 1968, he was seen as a spy in Ramanand Sagar Aankhen. He often starred alongside Rajesh Khanna, as in one of his most famous roles as a harmonica -playing driver in Aradhana (1969). In the 1970s, he also appeared several times in films with Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra. He was in the comic role of trade at home, but also embodied film villains.

In 1963, Sujit Kumar Bidesia in his first appearance in a Bhojpuri film, one in East Uttar Pradesh and Bihar in spoken variant of Hindi. Kumar was one of the stars of the Indian film in that language. In the first color film in Bhojpuri, Dangal (1977 ), he made the song Kashi Hile Patna Hile, Kalkatta hilela for a revival of the Bhojpuri film. In 1984 he led at Paan Khaye Saiyan Hamaar self directed.

In his career as an actor he has appeared in over 170 films. He died at the age of 75 years to cancer.
