Sükhbaataryn Batbold

Süchbaataryn Batbold (Mongolian Сүхбаатарын Батболд; * 1963 in Ulaanbaatar ) is a Mongolian politician and served 29 October 2009 to August 2012, Prime Minister of the country.

Biography

After attending secondary school No. 14, he studied between 1980 and 1986 at the School of International Relations of the Moscow University. After his return, he joined then as an expert in the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations and was thereafter from 1988 to 1992 director of an export operation of the Mongolian import-export Cooperative Ministry. In the meantime he studied in 1991 at the University of London and was followed between 1992 and 2000 General operation Altai Trading LLC. In 2000 he was appointed Deputy Foreign Minister and held that office until 2004. During this time he completed 2002 postgraduate studies at the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

In 2004 he was elected a deputy of the Great State Churals and re-elected at the 2008 general election. In August 2004 he was appointed by Prime Minister Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj appointed Minister of Trade and Industry and held this office until January 2006. During this time he opened in September 2005 in Berlin, together with the Secretary of State in the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology Bernd Pfaffenbach the Business Forum Mongolia as part of the Asia -Pacific Weeks.

On 20 September 2008 he was appointed by Prime Minister Sandschaagiin Bajar as Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade in the Cabinet, in October 2009, he has as his successor, Prime Minister of his country. On November 12, he gave the Secretary of State office to Gombojav Zandanshatar.
