Sułów, Lubusz Voivodeship

Sułów ( German Zohlow ) is a village in the Polish and Lubusz Voivodeship belongs to the urban and rural community Rzepin ( Reppen ) in Słubicki powiat ( county Słubice ).

Geographical Location

The village is located about 15 kilometers east of Frankfurt ( Oder) and counted in 2011, 225 inhabitants. Through the village runs the province road 137

History

1801, the population was 159 people, spread out over the 31 fireplaces and 30 and 2/5 hooves managed. From 1815 to 1828 Zohlow part of the urban district of Frankfurt ( Oder). From 1828 to 1873 the town was part of the Prussian circle Sternberg, before he belonged to the circle Weststernberg to 1945. Here it made with Neuendorf ( Gajec ) and Drenzig ( Drzeńsko ) the District Neuendorf. During 1895 in the village of 76 households were counted in 45 residential buildings with a total of 379 residents, the population dropped to 1939 to 321 people. To place were 1895 residential places Blue Monkey and New Zohlow. In addition, there was a Gutsbezirk with 40 residents in 6 buildings with 7 households.

At the end of the Second World War, the German population was expelled from the site. From 1975 to 1998 Sułów belonged to the Gorzów Voivodeship, before it became associated with the Lubusz Voivodeship. In the village there was a state property which was dissolved in 1990. In 2012 there were protests against the planned establishment of a pig farm on the former Gutsgelände.
