Sumartin

Sumartin is a place on the east coast of the Croatian island of Brac with about 350 inhabitants.

History

Established was the place in the 17th century by the Turks before Escaped from Bosnia. On November 11, 1646 named him after St. Martin. Built in the 20th century St. Martin's Church is a famous building in the village.

Infrastructure

A car ferry runs from Sumartin to Makarska. Many families from the mainland have holiday homes in Sumartin have and spend the summer there. The annual water polo tournaments on the waterfront are a summer event for the residents of the village. The young men from the village play a tournament with four teams from four different parts of the village, twice each against all.
