Sumitomo Life

Sumitomo Life Insurance Company (English in short, Sumitomo Life; jap住友 生命 保 険 相互 会 社, Sumitomo Seimei Hoken Sogo gaisha ) is a Japanese company with headquarters in Osaka.

The company offers various types of insurance to its customers. The insurance company is part of the Sumitomo Group.

History

The company was founded in 1907 under the name The Hinode Life Insurance Company. 1925 took over the Sumitomo Group management and a year later, the company changed its name to Sumitomo Life Insurance Company to offer.

Opened in 1986, the daughter of Sumitomo Life Insurance Agency America offices in New York and Los Angeles.

Sumitomo Life Insurance was the first Japanese insurance, which offered a long-term care (1999).

In 2011 it was announced that Sumitomo Life Insurance plans to expand into the Indian market.
