Sun Public License

The Sun Public License ( SPL) is a software license that will cover open source software and APIs from Sun Microsystems (eg NetBeans ). The license of the Free Software Foundation (FSF ) as a free software license and by the Open Source Initiative (OSI ) is recognized as an open- source license. The SPL was derived from the Mozilla Public License.

Sun Microsystems used another open source license, the Sun Industry Standards Source License ( SISSL ) (formerly for OpenOffice.org ). However, this license is not used any more in the future. Sun wants to stem the tide at different licenses with similar backgrounds in the future clearly and follows the company Intel, which will also pulped their house License Intel Open Source License.
